Clickaine Case Study: +75% ROI on Popunder with an Adult Smartlink from CPA.house across 12 GEOs

Clickaine Case Study: +75% ROI on Popunder with an Adult Smartlink from CPA.house across 12 GEOs

I joined the Clickaine advertising network to test popunder traffic with an adult smartlink from the CPA.house affiliate network. I had no prior experience in these GEOs — it was a pure experiment. After just 5 days of testing, ROI turned positive, and within 20 days of running the campaign, the profit nearly doubled the spend.

Here’s how it went.

Why these GEOs and the adult smartlink?

I chose an adult smartlink from CPA.house to test traffic from Clickaine.

The GEOs (USA, UK, Germany, Canada, and 8 other European countries) were recommended by CPA.house itself as priority markets for this smartlink. All of them are high-income regions with a solvent audience and strong conversion rates in the adult niche.

How to get a smartlink in CPA.house

Before launching a campaign, you need to create a flow and obtain a unique link for traffic.

Step 1: Setting up the flow and selecting landings
I created a flow named “campaign1”, specified the traffic source as Clickaine, then selected a landing page (the main page with a 0.72% CR) and saved the settings.

Step 2: Getting the link with tokens

After saving the flow, the system generated a unique link with tracking tokens. I copied it to add into the Clickaine dashboard.

  • Postback URL: configured to send data to CPA.house.

I also set up a Global Postback in the CPA.House dashboard.

Now you need to go to the Clickaine dashboard and create a creative using the generated link.

Step 3: Adding a creative in Clickaine
I proceeded to add the links by going to Creatives → Add Creative, selected the Popunder format, content type — Adult, and inserted the link obtained from CPA.house.

Step 4: Waiting for moderation and funding the account

After creating the creative, it received the status “Pending” — meaning it was under moderation. A few minutes later, the status changed to “Active”, and it became possible to start traffic after creating the campaign and funding the account balance.

Stage 1: “Raw” traffic run and initial losses
The first campaign launched on September 5:

  • Targeting: all 12 GEOs, mobile devices, Android 10+
  • CPM: $0.20
  • Budget: $50/day
  • Frequency cap: 1 unique impression per user every 10 hours
  • No pre-landers — direct traffic to the smartlink

The first days showed an ROI of –80%:

  • A lot of non-converting traffic
  • Low relevance in some GEOs
  • No source filtering applied

But even at this stage, the top 4 GEOs (US, UK, CA, DE) started to stand out — they generated the bulk of revenue despite the overall negative ROI.

Statistics from September 5 to 9

Stage 2: Daily optimization

From September 8 to 9, together with the Clickaine manager, I began deep optimization:
✅ Whitelisting publishers and zones — keeping only those with confirmed conversions
✅ Increasing CPM to $0.40 — for priority access to higher-quality placements
✅ Focusing on the top 4 GEOs — leaving the rest in the background with reduced budgets
✅ Frequency cap adjustment — 1 unique impression per user per day

Daily results:

  • September 9: ROI improved to –20%
  • September 10: first positive day with ROI +70%
  • From September 11 to 24: consistent profit with an average ROI of +75.48%

Statistics for all days

Optimization: publisher whitelist

After analyzing the first 3 days, together with the Clickaine manager I compiled a whitelist of publishers that generated conversions. This list was applied to the campaign, which significantly improved traffic quality.

Final results: daily and country statistics
After applying the whitelist and raising the bid, the campaign moved into stable profit.

Daily statistics
The chart shows that starting from September 10, ROI grew steadily, reaching peaks of 132% and 124%.

I didn’t expect to reach such profit in just 20 days without complex pre-landers or cloaking. A smartlink combined with high-quality popunder traffic from Clickaine is a setup that works even from the very start. What impressed me most was the speed of optimization: within just a couple of hours, the manager and I compiled a whitelist and moved into profit.
